MANILA, Philippines — A mother killed her three children and later herself through poisoning after midnight Monday in Magdalena, Laguna, police said Tuesday morning.

Chief Superintendent Ricardo Padilla, regional director of Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) Philippine National Police (PNP) and Senior Inspector Raul Sandoval, Magdalena police chief, said Marjorie, 4; Margareth, 3; and MJ, 2 were forced by their mother Janeth Ponce, 32 to drink the bottle of liquid toilet bowl cleaner at their house in Barangay (village) Salasad at around 1 a.m.

Janeth afterwards drank the poison to kill herself.

All four were rushed to the Magdalena Provincial Hospital but the three children were declared dead on arrival. Ponce was admitted to the emergency room but died shortly afterwards, Padilla said.

Sandoval said the suicide note that they found in the victims’ house made them believe that the mother killed her children and herself because of poverty.

In her suicide note, however, Janeth was asking her relatives to take good care of her children.

Police added that the relatives of Ponce refused to subject the mother and her children to an autopsy.

Police will also contact the husband of Ponce, who is a construction worker in Manila.

Starbucks+Friendster

Haysz, i am becoming so addicted to starbucks and today was like another starbucks day. I am now waiting for my third payment from EW and others from PPP and PTCs, I think I am getting more hooked with these sites and I am forgetting my friends at friendster. I am really missing all of them, hope they miss me too. \

Got some opp from Social spark but I am really not expecting anything. I think I’ll consider it a miracle if it will be approved (harhar).

Ohh.. before I forgot its August 08, 2008 (08,08,08) and everyone is going crazy of it. Some believed that it will bring good luck but others will have bad luck. I think, let us just be positive about it and think that this day will be our lucky day.. I felt nothing special about but since media and others are sensationalizing it, we can just go with the flow.

Just a quick update, i am going to finish my tasks (thesis about obesity and down syndrome). It’s friday so I have to finish the tasks early. i’ll blog hop..later.!!

Joke: Giving Up Wine

Eii guysz. a friend e-mailed this to me. read till the end. I find it so funny..:)
enjOy..

***Joke: Giving Up Wine

I was walking down the street after leaving the nail salon when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner.

I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, ‘If I give you this money, will you buy wine with it instead of dinner?’

‘No, I had to stop drinking years ago’, the homeless woman told me.

‘Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?’ I asked.

‘No, I don’t waste time shopping,’ the homeless woman said.

‘I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive.’

‘Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?’ I asked.

‘Are you NUTS !’ replied the homeless woman. ‘ I haven’t had my hair done in 20 years!’

‘Well,’ I said, ‘I’m not going to give you the money. Instead, I’m going to take you out for dinner with my husband and me tonight.’

The homeless Woman was shocked. ‘Won’t your husband be furious with you for doing that? I know I’m dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting.’

I said, ‘That’s okay. It’s important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine.’

RCBC CABUYAO BLOODIEST BANK ROBBERY

has been called, without exaggeration, as the bloodiest bank robbery in the country’s history. Ten dead, all methodically shot in the head. And the killers literally got away with murder, at least for the time being, and with an estimated P9 million to P12 million in cash. That’s an average of P1 million for every dead body. So successful was the heist that the robbers left behind millions more at the vault and scattered around the bank.

Additional details of the robbery have recently surfaced. According to the Philippine Star:

Based on the logbook, it was established that the robbery took place between 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., or an hour before the RCBC-Barangay Pulo, Cabuyao branch could open for business following the arrival of several supposed policemen aboard a white Toyota Revo without license plates at little past 8 a.m.

The logbook also contained the name of the supposed policemen led by a certain Inspector Alvarez. The guard on duty then was Aguilando Baltazar. Baltazar was among those executed by the suspects.

Also in the same entry, one of the supposed policemen even deposited his M16 rifle with the guard on duty.

When Task Force probers checked the PNP list of personnel, it was found that the names listed in the bank’s security logbook were all fictitious.

Bolstering suspicions that the men who introduced themselves as police were the perpetrators of the crime was the testimony of a lady client who witnessed one of the suspects clad in a police jacket pull one client, who was still outside, inside the bank.

After seeing this, the lady client called the attention of the Laguna Industrial Park authorities who in turn called up the Cabuyao police.

The time of the crime was also confirmed to have been between 8 to 9 a.m. last Friday, because as per the bank’s computer security alarm, which is connected to the RCBC head office, the door of the bank opened at exactly 8 a.m.

“Nobody can enter the bank during night time, not even the security guards because the establishment is fitted with a security alarm which if opened will automatically register at the computer of the RCBC’s head office in Makati,” a member of the Task Force RCBC said.

It was certainly a professional job. The perpetrators executed their plan with military (or police) precision, disabling the branch’s security equipment, herding the bank personnel inside, including an unlucky client’s representative, and patiently waiting for the vault’s time lock to deactivate just before the usual opening time. They grabbed the cash. Then they went about systematically slaughtering all possible witnesses, which was everyone inside the bank who wasn’t a member of the robbery gang. Afterwards, they drove away in one of victim’s vehicles with their loot. All without being detected.

A smooth bank robbery, just like in the movies. Except that this is real life. And it involves a mass killing, something which puts it beyond the pale. It has been described, rightfully so, as the “handiwork of the devil”.

The brutality of the crime has scarred the national psyche. The rationale seems obvious: kill all possible witnesses, the better to evade the so-called long arm of the law. Still, the blatant inhumanity of the act is almost incomprehensible. This is an aberration, even for country where violence is commonplace. In a taxi ride I took yesterday, the driver spent the better part of a half hour explaining why and how the bank robbers should die, should he get his hands on them.

Consider Baghdad, acknowledged as the bank robbery capital of the world. A typical bank robbery has been described thus:

The attack had been planned with military precision. Twelve men, masked and carrying Kalashnikov assault rifles stormed into the al-Sanik branch of the Bank of Baghdad, disarmed the guards, tied them up and then terrified the staff by firing into the ceiling. About $800,000 (£400,000) in US dollars and Iraqi dinars was grabbed before the gang drove away in three cars, untroubled by the many checkpoints in the area.

Amid the bombs and gunfire, there is one “industry” is doing remarkably well – Baghdad is now the bank robbery capital of the world.

Four years after “liberation” and the coming of the free market, Iraq is almost entirely a cash economy with a mushrooming group of private banks and vast sums of money being moved daily across the country.

But in all the stories of bank robberies in Iraq, there are remarkably few casualties. Even though, as we are reminded every time we see the news, one thing Iraq is not short of is men with guns.

Even in the U.S., where bank robberies have a long history as part of Wild-West lore, fatalities are rare. And Americans are not gun-shy, the right to bear arms being a constitutional right. But they’re clear about what they want: Just the money, please, and no one will get hurt.

And its plain why the RCBC massacre is so horrifying.

These were ordinary people, very much like us, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters. Ordinary people trying to make a living in an occupation which, though not without risks, would normally not put them on a collision course with mass murderers. In fact, they are instructed and trained not to be confrontational, to hand over the money in the event of an armed robbery and to avoid looking at the criminals’ faces. But they were killed anyway.

No one can enter a bank now without a shiver of fear and without recalling, consciously or not, the fate of the RCBC robbery victims. It could be me next time. Or my spouse. Or my children.

Its not an overstatement to say that crimes like these undermine the banking system and the economy as a whole. No person or institution is safe. Even if you play by the rules (which the RCBC staff apparently did, as there were no overt signs of resistance or struggle; the phrase “like lambs to slaughter” jumps to mind) you will still be killed.

A LOVE STORY

hmm.. i just finished watching “A LOVE STORY” starring AGA MUHLACH, ANGELICA PANGANIBAN AND MARICEL SORIANO. it was a nice story about unconditional love and forgiveness. I really like the story, for somehow this happened on me about a year or two years ago. Of course i am not the mistress. I find the story so nice coz it is very unpredictable as compared to other love stories in the past. it makes me realize that I have been like angelica (carrine) in the story as i truly fight for the love of my honie, and luckily what i have done was worth it and because i really loved my honie, i stick with him in spite of all the odds. Oh well, my honie have been able to patch things up and i know and i feel that he really loves me, though sometimes there is still doubts and hesitations, the love still continue to grow.

by the way, the ending of the story is way to good, for at the end Ian (Aga) and carrine were back to each others arms.

OuT of thE coUntRy :))

uHHmm.. Contrary to my previous post about the venue of our company outing, the place was not in BosO bOSo in antipolo but in ROckPoint hotel in Calamba laguna where we unwind, relaxed and had fun. Our call time at the morato office is 930 and i got there as early as 8 am (obviously im over excited lol). However, some of my co-writers have been late, though it does not really matter, coz we have all the time to travel. We took the SLEX to go to our destination and since it is saturday, there is no traffic jam. When we got to calamba area, we had a stopover and lola tubby’s roadside resto where we opt to eat our lunch. We thought that they have overpriced the meal (anyway, there is a karma for every bad things). We have been at the rockpoint at exactly 1 am and the people there welcomed us warmly. I think that the place is good as coz we are the only guests there. After checking in, we had decided to play billiards (ohh gosh, i have not played billiards for 3 years now and my eyes are getting blurrier than ever). I think arah is good in billiards and roger (idts, just kidding, he is also good). we had played for an hour after that we decided to sing with the videoke and i gotta say that celina has voice like vanessa hudgens. We had great time singing and we all laugh and Jan (the most serious writer) opted to sing a britney spears song (toxix and hit me baby). i think that was soo oweird but maybe he did it to lighten up the day and for the other writers not to become aloof with him. Anyway i have also discovered that JAn is some kinda magician and he is good.
At 730 we had our dinner at the poolside and we had an awarding for the best writers of the first quarter, congrats to em, jen, and boyet. After that we decided to swim and enjoy the hot spring. After 3 hours of enjoying the hot water, we all decided to go to sleep. I woke up at 830 am and we had a breakfast at 9 30 am. Then at 12 pm we checked out of the hotel. Although, the weather is not good, we all decided to have a side trip at the tagaytay highlands to take pictures. :) we are all camwhore. We ate the the teriyaki boy in tagaytay and took pictures there. We really make the most oout of this trip. We headed to cavite on our way home and since it is cold, each one of us have problems where to pee, so our driver took us to the SM dasmarinas (another unplanned trip), though we only went there to pee, ahaha. Next destination was at MOA, where we just go around the place inside the van, since it is raining and it is really not part of the plan. the whole trip was very enjoyable coz of the presence of angel he is the comedian of the group and btw, he is gay. ahehehe..

Ohh well, i think the outing is short but still memorable for each one of us. I can say that the place is good but we think that it is really best for couples :P .

till then.. have a nice day..:)

FINALLY!!

haisz.. finally the days of waiting to many verifications and confirmations has ended. First off is about our company outing which we planned but waited for the confirmation and approval from our bosses since they will be the one to give us the budget. A confirmation email has been sent to boyet and arah telling them that the outing will pursue, so the next thing to do is to take a reservation at the CLUB MAnila East, waahh.. but unluckily the resort was fully booked. They find BOSo Boso resort in Antipolo as the last option, they think that it is a good place, but i still have a trauma going to antipolo since the last time i went there was a tragic experience. (anyway, i hope i survive the trauma)..

The next thing is the verification of my account in essaywriters. I have waited for it to be verified but since i am giving them the wrong codes, they could not verify it. I have sent a new account and yesterday when i checked it,, woola.. it is already verified.. what i am waiting now is to the outing to really happen and for my salary to be sent.

By the way, NanAy mYrna’s internment happened yesterday at the forest park and we are all sad but happy as well for she will be resting in peace now and that we know that she is in heaven now.

that’s it for now..

ALPHA ANd OMEGA

weee.. alphA and omega (the beginning and the end).. well, i can say that this week would probably one of the most remarkable week for me.. because of so many highlights that is happening, (though i am not directly involved .. but the people around me, especially mii loved ones.). first off, ii say alpha because it is the beginning of the life of our angel MISZHA, our little angel was born yesterday of my sister. She is the first ever grandchild of our parents, and we are all excited to hug her. I went to the hospital to see her and took pictures of her. i think she got her eyes from my honie (singkit). (oh my is he the father?? lawlsz)..

well, on the contrary, i say omega because finally nanay mryna (hOnie’s mom) is in heaven now and her mission and journey on earth has ended. Though ii know it is really sad, my hOnie accepted it wholeheartedly for he knew that she is with God and this will also the end of her mother’s suffering (btw, she died because of hypothyroidism and other complications).

haisz,, with this, i realize that people will just come and go,, and the most important thing to consider is.. how we have lived our lives and how we have touch other people’s lives too..

For baby miszha.. good luck and rest assured that you will be loved by all of us..

and for nanay myrna.. congratulations for you are in God’s arms now and an angel for your family..

. i end it with this : “LIFE IS TOO SHORT.. SO LIVE IT TO THE FULLEST…”
